Why I’m Trending Solventless

This summer has been filled with a variety of concentrates which led me to take note of my experiences when consuming different types of concentrates.

This epiphany came to me when I took a fairly large dab (from a company that I will not name) and I immediately got a headache. Now was it the strain? Possibly, but as my tolerance has gotten higher and there is a need to consume more that is one thing I began to notice when consuming larger quantities of concentrates that had solvents in them. A similar situation occurred when sampling some edibles (from a different company that I will not name) and I got nauseous within 30 minutes of eating them, which then eventually caused me to get sick. These are just two examples of the way I felt, but it’s something I began to notice more and more as time went on when I consumed concentrates or edibles with solvents in them.

I then proceeded to do two to three days in a row where I would consume nothing but concentrates and edibles that had solvents. (NOTE: EVERY TIME I TRIED THIS I TRIED A DIFFERENT STRAIN TO MAKE SURE IT WASN’T JUST A RESULT ON A PARTICULAR STRAIN WHETHER IT WAS FOR SOLVENTS OR SOLVENTLESS) In comparison to my typical consumption which is 90% flower, I honestly felt really terrible. I had a lingering headache often. My energy and motivation weren’t the same and my appetite wasn’t as high as it typically was. I did this once a week for 6 weeks and every time the same side effects would pop up. This is how I felt during this process and I’m sure there are tons of people out there that would say different, but this is how I felt and honestly I wasn’t happy about it. I didn’t like the way I felt during or after when I really started to take note and pay attention to how I felt when consuming products with solvents in them strictly for a few days at a time.

This then led me to try solventless consumption on the days off. The difference was pretty much immediate. I didn’t cough as much, I wasn’t having any major headaches or nausea, and my appetite if anything was higher. (NOTE: EVERY TIME I TRIED THIS I TRIED A DIFFERENT STRAIN TO MAKE SURE IT WASN’T JUST A RESULT ON A PARTICULAR STRAIN WHETHER IT WAS FOR SOLVENTS OR SOLVENTLESS) I was consuming mainly flower and rosin, and another thing I noticed is I felt a lot more in control of my dosing. There was never a point where I felt like I had too much or I couldn’t have a little and continue being productive for the remainder of the day without getting, ‘too high’.

  1. I was literally just talking to a few people about this the other day. I wanted to treat myself, so I splurged on some hash rosin and it was the beginning of a new era for me. I never realized the effects solvents had on me until I stopped consuming them all together. I also feel I’m able to breathe better and think more clearly. Thank you for the great insight!!!
